°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Marks Armed Forces Week

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Council are marking Armed Forces Week this week, reflecting the proud support in the borough for serving troops, veterans and their families.  The new °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Armed Forces Champion, Councillor Derek Bevan, will be attending Tredegar Armed Forces Day at Bedwellty House and Park on Sunday 26th June, 12 noon -5pm. 

The popular annual event, organised by Tredegar Town Council, will feature music, including The Royal Welsh Regimental Band, stalls and a bouncy castle.  °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Council will raise the flag for Armed Forces Week at the General Offices in Ebbw Vale on Friday 24th ´³³Ü²Ô±ð.Ìý

As Armed Forces Champion, Councillor Bevan, will chair the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Armed Forces Covenant Steering Group.  The group brings together representatives of the armed forces, public and voluntary sector organisations, to work together to ensure that the Armed Forces Community in °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ receive fair treatment in the provision of services.

Councillor Bevan said ‘Armed Forces Day is an important opportunity to show our support for the armed forces community in °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼.  I am looking forward to another successful Tredegar Armed Forces Day and to my new role as Armed Forces Champion.’
